Why the spartan appearance?

The OnTheDay.net web application is written with 3G smart phones in mind. Smart phone web browsers display on smaller screens, so at the moment, the site looks spartan on a regular browser.

Additionally, keeping the site text-based minimises download times over 3G connections. In fact, the OnTheDay.net application also works well over slower non-3G connections due to being text-based.

Formatting will improve as part of our development, but functionality and speed will have priority.

How do I connect to the site?

With smart phones, netbooks, iPads(!), laptops or anything that can connect to the internet.

Anyone who is interested can view what is public – this includes racers at the event with their own internet devices. Racers can therefore view race results as soon as they are posted to the site.
